"I truly cannot recommend staying here enough. We were only able to stay here one night, but I really wish we could have stayed more. While yes, it's a luxury price point, the beauty and the nature that you get to view in return is worth every penny. The property itself is absolutely stunning so even just driving around on the safaris looking for the animals is enjoyable. The food was exceptional, the room was immaculate, I truly can't recommend this enough. Our guide Rigchter was so knowledgeable and friendly and witty. He seemed just as excited for us to see the animals as we were. I hope I have the opportunity to return here again one day."

The host provided very warm welcome and were very friendly, assisted with some immediate needs we had, parking was behind gates, accommodation was simply wonderful and the property was quiet, charming and meticulously maintained. Didn’t get a chance to use amenities like outdoor gym and pool. Overall, we had very relaxing, enjoyful stay here during our road trip through garden route."

"It was serendipitous that I booked a stay at Mountain View Swellendam as I was looking for a place to stop about 6 hours west from Port Elizabeth. I saw nice pictures, a good rating, and a reasonable price. But WOW! First, incredible hospitality. We were greeted at the gate, shown our secure parking spot, then given a complete tour of our unit and directions around the grounds. Plus a recommendation for a restaurant for dinner that we followed and enjoyed. Also, a staff member stopped by to check on an item she had learned possibly was not up to snuff and replaced it. Second, the unit we stayed in was perfect both in condition and usefulness to us. My wife and I needed to work a bit and the room layout and internet were just what was required. The small kitchen area was great for reheating items and making tea and coffee. Finally, the garden area is delightful and provided a much needed relaxation break. When we are next in the area we will absolutely stay at the Mountain View Swellendam. "

"We stayed at the Karoo Art Hotel for one night on our way to Cape Town. It is a wonderfully restored hotel in keeping with its character. The bed was very comfortable and our room spacious. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were very good, we would definitely return if ever in South Africa. It was nice to safely be able to walk around the town."
